This Travel Camera Backpack Keeps Your Gear Discreet

So the folks at WOTANCRAFT, a Taiwanese-based bag making workshop, wanted to create an alternative solution. Low-key camera carry that could cater to the traveling photographer. And their answer? The WOTANCRAFT “NOMAD” Travel Camera Backpack.

More than meets the eye

Take a casual glance at the NOMAD and you’ll see a simple rolltop canvas backpack. But on closer inspection you’ll discover this low-key design is actually tricked out with a range of photography-friendly features.

The NOMAD comes in two sizes, 25L and 15L. The 25L pack provides 15L of padded storage space with adjustable dividers for photography gear, accommodating up to two bodies and six lenses. Additionally, there’s 10L of storage space (divided into 5L of top and 5L of front storage respectively) for personal items such as clothing, shoes and other travel essentials. The pack also provides a 13″ laptop compartment (which fits the latest 16″ MacBook Pro).

The 15L pack provides 9L of padded photography storage with adjustable dividers, holding one camera body and up to five lenses. Plus you’ll find 6L of additional space for personal items, divided into a 3L rolltop space and 3L front storage. The 15L pack also has a 12″ laptop compartment (that fits the 4th gen 13″ MacBook Pro).

Both sizes feature wing pockets that keep frequently used items easily accessible And for your valuables? A hidden pocket offers discreet storage for the likes of a passport or spare cash. Bulkier items are taken care of with exterior webbing attachment points, which are also handy for securing quick-access or wet items to allow them to air dry.

Carry loads and tastes are different. So WOTANCRAFT provides options to best suit your needs. You can choose between Charcoal Black or a camouflage-style Olive Green for either size.

In addition to the padded straps, the backpack also provides grab handles and a luggage passthrough for flexible, convenient portability.

Built for life on the go

Being on the move and navigating through changing terrain can be stressful on your gear. So the NOMAD has been crafted with a rugged and water-repellent 500D Cordura® N66 Nylon canvas that boldly takes on rain, snow and demanding use. The canvas is designed to patina over time with use, while the brass buckles feature a matte black coating and will develop an attractive gradient fading over time. Ultimately creating a worn in, well used look that nods to vintage styling while saluting your own personal carry journey.

A side zipper opening provides quick access to camera gear without needing to set the bag down. Additionally, the zippers and pockets are designed to be concealed while on the move, helping deter opportunistic thieves.

Comfort for the long haul

Photography gear can get pretty heavy. So WOTANCRAFT designed the NOMAD accordingly, with wide shoulder straps for better weight distribution, a removable sternum strap, and a padded and ventilated back panel. The pack can also be paired with an optional padded waist belt for particularly heavy loads.
