Kickstarter Highlight :: Boundary Prima System
Crowdfunding is fast becoming the world’s go-to platform for new releases. But do you ever find it hard to cut through the noise and pin down the ones worth your hard-earned? Well, that’s where this new sponsored series comes in. We’re vetting carry Kickstarters for you, digging up the facts, and shedding light on the ones we think are worth a closer look.
This week’s selection: Boundary and their modular Prima System.
Built to go beyond carry boundaries
Need a pack to nail a number of scenarios? An ‘everybag’? Well, the folks behind Boundary had that very thing in mind. So, smartly enough, they didn’t create a bag… instead, they created a system. One that adapts to changing needs, moving seamlessly between environments without slowing you down.
Slick modular adaptability for varied carry needs
The system features three modular components, namely the Prima Pack, Fieldspace, and Verge Case. Whether used separately or combined, these pieces can deliver versatile EDC and travel solutions, whether you’re heading on a photography shoot, zipping down city streets on your commute, or getting some R&R on your travels.
Taking the time to do it right
The Prima System was honed through 17 months of factory visits and prototyping designs. Lasting quality and a care for the environment are key priorities, with durable bluesign® approved fabric featured throughout the system.
Putting easy access front and center
Access is important to many of us, and Boundary have it nailed, integrating features that make reaching your gear smoother and faster.
– A central zipper sweeps down its front panel and flares open to give duffel-esque stowage and access.
– Two U-shaped side zips give access to the main compartment, an awesome feature for accessing gear quickly and on-the-go.
-Exterior essentials pockets on the Prima Pack are handy for stashing Boundary’s magnetic key chain and a pair of shades. Plus you can weave charging cables through a side-access pocket to charge your devices.
-Two magnetic buckles on the top lid make it quick and easy to open and close the main flap.
Organization on the go
Peek inside and you’ll find four pockets for storing smaller items within easy reach, along with an RFID pocket for travel documents and electronics. And if you need to haul dirty laundry or shoes, or deal with an accidental spill, Boundary have you covered. The interior fabrics are woven and treated to repel water, stains, and odors, helping your pack stay fresh through life’s adventures.
And then there’s the Fieldspace: a nifty organizer that can be magnetically docked inside the pack or carried separately to suit your work or EDC needs. External stretch mesh pockets keep chargers, pens, and cords tidy, while a magnetic flap secures a tablet or laptop inside a water-resistant sleeve. There’s even a water-resistant document sleeve on the back, so you can keep all your important work items in one conveniently portable piece.
Sightseer to photographer
Looking to snap some photos or do a little sightseeing with just the essentials in tow? The Verge Case is ready to roll with small camera setups and travel gear. The case can either be carried inside the Prima Pack and accessed via a side pocket, or alternatively carried as a separate bag by converting the Prima Pack’s waist belt into a shoulder strap.
Helping protect the contents is a durable DURAMAX KODRA exterior, with interior padding provided by water-resistant Nywool. Three pockets organize small items like batteries and accessories and a large exterior pocket holds items like a phone and sunglasses. And if the 5L volume isn’t enough for your needs, the base can be unzipped to boost storage space to 10L; ideal for stashing a few extra snacks, an outer layer, or the awesome souvenir you came across in your roaming.
All supported with solid suspension
The lightweight and breathable Boundary LFT suspension system helps keep you comfy on the move, with a combination of EVA mesh and perforated foams to wick sweat and kill bacteria. Suspension straps help fine-tune the load distribution, and there’s also a convenient magnetic sternum strap for more active pursuits and heavier loads.
Boundary’s Prima System manages to find a solid balance between adaptability, considered technical features, and stylish design. If you’re keen to add it to your carry quiver, check out their Kickstarter campaign, which has already smashed its funding goal and ends on 23 June 2017.
Note: this is a sponsored series, but only the best candidates are given this feature placement.
Above are the facts, but there’s always a little risk when backing a crowdfunder, so keep that in mind before you decide to back/purchase. 😉
