The Carry Awards – 2012

We’ve got something pretty exciting happening at Carryology right now and we’re hoping you can get involved…

For the first time ever, we’re launching The Carry Awards for 2012. We’re aiming to give some exposure and credibility to the carry world so that it’s classed in its own category and can escape the ‘accessories’ tag. And we’d love you to have a say on what you regard as the some of the best carry pieces for 2012.

You can see below the award categories we’re running with for the first year. We want a diverse range of answers, and will have a judging panel ranging from our awesome readers (you), across to carry retailers, brands, editors of rad sites and then our own Carryology contributors.

Is it just carry released in 2012? Mostly, but there is wriggle room. If you love the Goruck GR1, and we know it gets constantly tweaked and refined, we can definitely include it. Not saying the GR1 will be in there, but you know, we needed an example…
How does the judging work? We had Deeper Blue work out a weighted scoring system for us, where we balance the suggestions of the raddest crew in carry with the people’s vote, and it tells us the REAL winners.
Can we promote this through our own channels? Hell yeah. Let’s spread the word and recognise carry greatness!
