Don’t let travel weigh you down
The less weight you have to carry, the easier your journey is. This principle guides the new Boreas Ultralight Travel Series, designed to help you travel more efficiently and explore further when you reach your destination. Featuring three lightweight pieces, the series includes the Lynx Ultralight Money Belt, Taurus Packable Daypack and Polaris Packable Shoulder Bag. The Lynx Ultralight Money Belt weighs in at 2.4 oz and has two front zipped pockets, a flexible hip belt and a perforated foam backing. The Taurus backpack features a concealed daisy chain and zipped rolltop closure, accommodates a hydration bladder, and packs conveniently into an integrated pocket for storing in a larger bag. The 5.6 oz Polaris shoulder bag also stores away in an integrated pocket for easy packing and includes a front pocket, internal sleeve, and concealed daisy chains on the bottom.
Ready for whatever the day brings
A little bit of flexibility can help you go a long way. Case in point, the Scout Pack and Renegade Pack from Alite Designs. Designed to roll with changing day-to-day carry needs and available in two colorways, these backpacks carry the essentials for work, lazy weekend days and even overnight trips. The 14L Scout Pack can be carried as a tote or backpack, secures with a drawstring closure, offers a choice of exterior pockets and includes a laptop sleeve for protecting your tech. The 16L Renegade Pack has a rolltop closure, front pocket and daisy chain loops, and provides a laptop sleeve accessed through a side zip.
Pared-back aesthetics with practical features
If you’re after a sleek, everyday messenger, Arc’teryx may have just the fix you need. New for Fall/Winter 2016 is the Fyx Messenger, part of Arc’teryx’s 24 Collection. Available in two options, the Fyx 13 messenger fits a 15″ laptop while the Fyx 9 fits a 13″ laptop. In addition to a suspended and padded laptop compartment, both messengers accommodate a 10″ tablet and share a range of other useful features. A concealed back pocket stores notebooks and travel documents, and front and side pockets provide further organization for smaller items. Both messengers also include an integrated reflective bike light clip and an adjustable waist belt for a stable load on the go.
Taking on the elements in style
Filson bags are known for their durability and distinctive Rugged Twill and bridle leather aesthetics. But the brand are bringing something different to the table with their new range. The durability and smart designs are still there, but showcased in vegetable-tanned leather. The Filson Weatherproof Leather range includes the Weatherproof Leather Original Briefcase, Weatherproof Leather Duffel (Medium), Weatherproof Leather Journeyman Backpack and the Weatherproof Leather Rolling Carry-On Bag. The boot-grade leather is vegetable-tanned by the Pennsylvania-based Wickett & Craig tannery. The leather is complemented by solid brass hardware and felt padding on the shoulder straps.
