YETI Bring Their Legendary Toughness to a New Line of Travel Bags and Luggage
Austin natives YETI are known for their indestructible products and have become the leading name in hardcore outdoor products. Their coolers, their drinkware, and even their accessories are thoroughly engineered, versatile, and long-lasting. Throughout the last couple of years, they have successfully dipped their toes into the carry game, with the lauded Tocayo EDC backpack and the wildly impressive Panga submersible series. Now, they’ve released a whole new line and today, we preview the new YETI Crossroads luggage and carry collection.
The YETI Crossroads collection has a singular goal in mind: to get you out into the world and adventuring. This philosophy is clear throughout the entire line, its design language, and stylistic choices. The Crossroads backpacks, duffels, and rolling luggage come with you wherever your exploits take you. The collection includes seven new pieces of YETI ruggedness – three backpacks, two duffels, and two pieces of rolling luggage. At the heart of all of these new carry options is YETI’s legendary material choice. Featuring their proprietary TuffSkinTM Nylon – a 700D expedition-grade nylon, a GroundControl PU base, and internally anchored shoulder straps, this collection is determinedly water and abrasion-resistant. Meaning, in true YETI style, they will handle anything thrown at them.
YETI Crossroads backpacks
The Crossroads backpacks come in three Goldilocks sizes: 22L, 27L, and 35L. All three are highly organized, with suspended laptop and tablet sleeves, a luggage pass-thru, quick-access pockets, internal organization, an elasticated key chain, and a no-pressure back panel. The SideHustleTM pockets allow you to get to your vital gear via a quick swing around your body, as opposed to a full bag dismount. One of these pockets gives you access to the contents of your bag, the other is a water bottle holder.
The smaller 22L size suits fast and light EDC, with a flip top vault pocket (that has both exterior and interior access). This bag also has the slimmest profile of the collection.
The 27L is designed for your gear-intensive extended day trips. Or even your few day excursions for the minimalists amongst you. With multiple access points, internal water bottle pockets, and a separate laptop compartment this is designed to travel!
Once you get to the 35L bag, you can bring it all! It features a TSA-friendly laptop sleeve, SideHustleTM pockets, and the same burly build as its smaller siblings. But with this one, you can bring enough clothes for a weekend away and bring your EDC too, all in the same bag. The 180º clamshell opening with an incognito divider allows you to keep work and play separate with ease. The 35L is also designed to work with YETI’s packing cubes if you are looking for a complete system.
Crossroads duffels
Sometimes adventures need more than a backpack, or perhaps more accurately, more gear than a backpack can hold. YETI have you covered with their two duffels, sized at 40L and 60L. Featuring the same abrasion, water, and stain-resistant TuffSkinTM exterior as the backpacks, these were meant to be put through their paces. These are intelligently designed duffels that upgrade the ones we’ve all been using for years. Structured foam walls stop the sides collapsing in and allow you to pack and see the contents with great ease. A thoughtful selection of organization that includes magnetic and zippered pockets and divider panels make the Crossroads duffel easily customizable depending on your loadout.
Not only that, the compression straps (both internal and external) allow you to either shrink the duffel’s profile when you aren’t using all the available space or give you a little extra packing room when you need it most. With multiple grab handles, these bags are easy to pick up, toss around, and put through the wringer.
Crossroads luggage
While YETI have made backpacks and duffels before, the Crossroads rolling luggage is new ground for them entirely. Made with the same TuffSkinTM exterior as the rest of the collection, on the rolling luggage it is reinforced with a molded polycarbonate shell. These will survive any escapade they go on. Their rugged wheels allow easy maneuvering and are fully serviceable. Similarly to the duffels, they have rugged handles everywhere, so you can grab and go with ease. A clamshell opening invites you to store as much gear as you need in the divided compartment. Zippered pockets on the divider help you keep the little pieces out of the way. The compression straps (these can be used internally or externally depending on your preference!) maximize your loading ability so you aren’t caught short without the right gear.
The 29-inch luggage (80L capacity) comes with a small and medium packing cube included. The carry-on sized 22-inch (40L capacity) comes with a small. These are great additions to the line to allow you even more organization. A quick-access pocket, and vertical pocket on the front, keep all your EDC close at hand as you travel.
We shouldn’t be surprised that these look to be heading right to the top of the pack. YETI are known for their thoughtful design, functionality, and incredible durability. With the new YETI Crossroads collection coming as the world looks to move on from the pandemic, we’re excited to travel from A to B, and get stuck into C.
