Taylor Stitch Ledge Shirt – Coastline Plaid (US$128)
We couldn’t write a winter guide without a few good flannels, and thankfully the folks at Taylor Stitch have us covered there. The Ledge is the classic flannel silhouette made from organic cotton. It comes pre-washed and ready for anything your winter escapades will throw at you. This handsome Coastline Plaid colour way is part of their Magic Seaweed collection with artist Ty Williams. The ledge is a little shorter at the hem, designed to be worn untucked.
Taylor Stitch Division Shirt (US$138)
If you aren’t into the plaid flannel, and you’d rather something a bit burlier, then look no further than the Division shirt. This tough heavyweight 10oz organic cotton shirt is an updated take on the classic work shirt and it is ready for action. A true chameleon, the division is tough enough for hard labour, but sleek enough for a dinner date too. The washed indigo shows the cotton yarns in all their glory and will continue to patina with your hard yards.

This is a lighter weight layer, but its clean Scandi styling makes it great for active or recreational use. A well sized hood and zip pockets are all you need for a day of exploring.
Relwen Channel Huckberry Exclusive Anorak (ON SALE $278)
This Anorak is one of those “sneaky” items that surprises you. Over three months of use, this has become a favourite for walks, chores, and throwing in in the brisk mornings. Nylon ripstop with a waterproof laminate keeps the wet days at bay, while the shearling lined hood and recycled polyester insulation add some extra warmth. The anorak style is classic, and the drop hem gives you a little more protection from the elements. A side zip encourages easy on/off, and a kangaroo pocket on the front holds your essentials. Blundstone 585 Chelsea Boots (US$219.95)
Blundstone’s are an Australian icon. When you slip on a pair, it’s easy to see why. These famous boots are comfortable, hard wearing, and stylish. Elasticated sides make for easy on off, while the leather uppers and interiors form to your feet quickly after just a few wears. The comfortable PORON® cushioned footbed means you can stay in these for hours on end. The outsole provides good grip in most situations, although they aren’t out and out hikers.

While not technically waterproof, the ankle height and material combination has combated snow with ease.

Everyone needs a good hat come winter time, and this retro version from Huckberry’s collection with Coors is a winner. Coming in three colours, this style is reminiscent of yesteryear but ready for your winter fun. An acrylic/wool blend provides plenty of warmth and durability in a stylish package.
MecArmy Compact Dual Color Flashlight (US$89)
While the nights are shorter and the days are darker, a flashlight is a great EDC item to have with you at all times. The MecArmy Compact Flashlight is going to become your best friend. It’s important to stay warm and hydrated in these winter months and there’s no better way to warm up than with a sip of your favourite tipple. The flask itself holds 180ml of your chosen drink in a double walled stainless steel cavity, meaning you can keep any drink hot or cold at their desired temperature. Helle Nipa Knife (US$199)
Sometimes the old ways are the best and not many do heritage like the Norwegians. Helle knives are known for their handmade beauties, and the moment I laid my eyes on this I was smitten. This beautiful folder has a birch handle and a Sandvik 12C27 blade, ready for EDC and outdoor adventures a like. The clip can be switched to either side depending on your preference and the handle is designed for a four finger grip. This is a beautiful piece of hardware that should last you a lifetime. It doesn’t have the bells and whistles of modern multi-tools, and it doesn’t need them. This is a trusty companion made to do a job well, there’s a lot to love about that.

Staying in Scandinavia, it’s always important to keep your hands warm. Hestra are the epitome of quality in the glove world, and I personally have worn them constantly for the past six years. Each pair I own have different uses from snowboarding to yard work, and the Axis is a perfect everyday glove to add to my collection and yours. Featuring Primaloft gold insulation, an elasticated wrist, and stretch palm, these are great gloves for your daily chores and outings. These pack down small into a bag or jacket pocket easily, and are ready to keep those digits warm.
The North Face Base Camp Duffel Medium (US$149)
There are some brands who you can just trust. The North Face is one of those. The Base Camp duffel is iconic in the world of duffels and with good reason. Affordable, burly, and simple, it is the perfect bag to trust for winter adventures. Mine has been on many adventures in the roof box of my car, has been dragged through snow and mud and it keeps coming back for more. The medium size is my favourite, as it’s just enough to hold all you could need, but not so big it takes up all of your space. Featuring simple pocketing on the inside lid and ends of the bag, the Base Camp is a do-it-all pro that you can rely on.
GORUCK Bullet 15L Heritage Backpack – Slate (US$345)
Simply put, the GORUCK Heritage line are some of the best looking most functional packs out there. The Bullet comes in at 15L and is a great EDC bag for your errands, hikes, and commutes.
